West
Texas Street, our gateway to the heart
of Solano County,
is
in need of your help. |

|
The
merchants of West Texas Street have formed a coalition, the
Fairfield Gateway Project to work with the city and county towards
improving the area. The primary objective of the local merchants
located on West Texas Street is to improve the gateway to Fairfield,
thereby helping small businesses increase their revenue, increasing
employment, improving the overall general economy, and increasing
the city's tax base.
West Texas Street is the gateway to Fairfield, Solano County's
capital. It creates an important first impression. Geographically,
it is the most central location in the county, but gets limited foot
traffic. People visiting downtown Fairfield usually travel
down West Texas Street. They
need a better first impression or they may turn around before
getting to downtown. With a revitalized area, the general economy
improves. The merchants
in the area want the city to improve West Texas Street like they are
doing with downtown Fairfield.
We need the public's help to organize the West Texas Street
improvement effort. If
you are interested in helping, call 428-5000 ext 3078. If
you don't get involved, please don't complain.
